Lesson Plan 3: Changing for the Better

How does this fit into the curriculum? Pupils should be taught to identify how and why places change (3e) and to recognise how people can improve the environment or damage it and how decisions about places and environments affect the future and quality of people's lives (5a).

Teachers' Note: An example of a school conservation project is given. Pupils should study this, then begin researching a different conservation project. This could be a local project in their neighbourhood, one from another area of the UK or one conducted abroad. They should produce a written report covering the aspects specified at the end of the lesson plan.
